A Sloper?

A sloper is a set of pattern blocks that, when sewn up, makes the basic dress that fits your body perfectly.

Making a sloper is about learning to make things fit and making a base to build perfect fitting designs from.

You start with your bust, waist, and hip measurements like normal, but then you make it really fit. You'll fit the length, the slope of your shoulder, the size and shape of your neck, your armhole... It'll fit you everywhere, and I'll show you the easiest way to get there.

When you're done, it'll feel so good it'll be like a second skin. It's the ideal start for your designs. Plus, you'll have learned how to fix fit issues with any sort of pattern in the process.

Learn To Design Clothes That Fit

You can design your clothes yourself, and I'll show you how. You start with a copy of your sloper, and modify it step by step until you get the style you want, all while maintaining the fit. Pattern manipulations are so fun.

Pattern drafting is an amazing way to make tops, skirts, dresses, jackets, flowy blouses, vests, boleros, and more! See that picture? I made every piece there from my sloper, and they fit right the first time!!

Make Commercial Patterns Fit

One lesson in this course teaches you to use your sloper to make commercial patterns fit better. By comparing the commercial pattern to your sloper, you can make adjustments and can correct problems before you start sewing. You can check things like lengths, widths, shoulders, center back and front lengths etc.

Learn From My Experience

I've taught people to make slopers for over a decade. Initially, I taught what I learned in fashion school and by reading pretty much every fashion design book ever. It worked OK, but I wanted something better, so I revised my lessons. As I worked with thousands of students of all shapes, ages, and sizes, I kept revising. I learned better ways to teach it, and I came up with better techniques for working on the slopers. Now I'm sharing all that experience with you on-line.
